In most Parliamentary democracies like Saint Lucia; the government is really made up of three branches or arms which are assigned different roles. Those three branches are; the Parliament (including the Senate or Upper House), Cabinet and the Judiciary. The Judiciary however, constitutes the Courts and magistracy and all of its subordinate units. Its primary role is to ensure that the Laws of the country are properly adjudicated and rights of all under the constitution are maintained.
